Trafficus Interruptus

This is May Street, outbound at Park Avenue.
Why they created this "right turn only" lane, I will never know. It doesn’t make the flow of traffic better, it makes it much worse. The reason being that anyone who has to take a left turn will back up the traffic behind them.
The way they’ve done this, it makes the traffic back up much worse than it ever would’ve with no designated lanes at all.
