I found an Asian Longhorned Beetle today
by Mike - October 11, 2008 6:27pm
Today some kids from the Bronx were at Kendrick Field in Worcester to look for Asian Longhorned Beetles. The plan was to find some, kill them, and then examine them with a local electron microscope.
I tagged along to tape their adventures for Community Vision and 508. And what do you know: I found a beetle, clinging to a pine tree.
I’ve released the pix and video under the Attribution license, in case you want to use them.
The bugs were much bigger than I expected; there’s no doubt that if you saw one, you’d know it.
