Community Meeting on the Asian Longhorned Beetle Crisis
by Real Worcester - October 29, 2008 8:55am
The Massachusetts Asian Longhorned Beetle Cooperative Eradication Program will be holding a community meeting tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Worcester Technical High School, Fuller Auditorium.
The meeting will include an information session conducted by city, state, and federal officials. They will discuss the Asian longhorned beetle, the “regulated” area, and Worcester’s defined eradication protocols and continued surveying efforts.
This comes just after word from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that the number of trees infested with Asian longhorned beetles has grown from 1,700 to 2,500.
If you have any questions on the Asian longhorned beetle crisis the ALB Cooperative Eradication Program urges you to contact them at (508) 799-8330 or 1 (866) 702-9930. More information is also available on the City of Worcester website.
