Ice Storm Wreckage

OUCH!, originally uploaded by Claudia Snell.

What a nasty punch we all got here in Worcester! For those of you not in this area, we had a nasty ice storm that has caused a lot of damage and huge numbers of people without power. Roads are blocked with broken branches and debris. Here’s what the Telegram and Gazette has to say about it all. You can also see what other bloggers are reporting by checking out RealWorcester.com.

In my area, by Institute Park in Worcester (near WPI), we had a huge mess with down branches but nothing like what some poor people are dealing with. We haven’t lost power here and it looked like no one got any real damage to their cars. We’re all very lucky.

I hope everyone else is OK out there and that the crews are able to clean up and get the power back on for people without any more shenanigans from Mother Nature!

I have a few more pictures on Flickr.

Also, I just realized that my last post was about how beautiful New England is at this time of year – DOH!
