Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s tour of Asia this past week, ending with a visit to China, was largely about reasserting the importance of economic ties with the region and getting to know its leaders, but the Obama administration’s preoccupation with economic issues must not be permitted to eclipse concerns over human rights in China.
