Why go to Provo when Worcester is so close?

A report in Mas High Tech lets us know that Worcester, Manchester, Bridgeport top ‘quality of life’ study. Mass High Tech’s parent company, American City Business Journals, published an analysis of 124 U.S.mid-sized metropolitan areas. Worcester ranked 29, the best in Massachusetts and third-best in New England.

FWIW, Des Moines, Iowa came in 10th.

  1. I wouldn’t put too much credibility on a “study” that pegs Worcester’s population at 781,352…

  2. The population is for the Worcester metropolitan statistical area. As best as I can tell from the U.S. census site, this means Worcester County. Even the county numbers seems to be high, but I’ll try to check their math.
