WCCA TV 13 is again a proud media sponsor of Girls Inc.’s Girls Celebration on Thursday, June 11 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Winthrop House. Girls Inc. has long been committed to providing inner-city youth who cannot afford the cost of camp with the opportunity to attend their enriching and fun summer programs offered at Camp Kinneywood, their outdoor camp located near the Holden Reservoir, and at Winthrop House, their in-town facility located at 125 Providence St. To make their summer programs possible for some of the neediest children in the community, Girls Inc. holds an annual Girls Celebration to raise funds for the Summer Camp and Program Scholarship Fund and to honor local community leaders that truly exemplify Girls Inc’s mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold. This year’s Honorees are The George F. and Sybil H. Fuller Foundation for whom they will dedicate their updated Aquatics Center, and Dr. Jean King and Linda Cavaioli, recipients of the 2009 Advocate for Girls Awards.
