Bridge collapse off by 23 years

The “This Day in History” column in the Telegram & Gazette Nov. 7 had a real faux pas. It said that the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapsed on Nov. 7, 1917. It wasn’t built and opened until 23 years later on July 1, 1940, and collapsed the same year on Nov. 7.
