Brown Bag Concert: Piano and Trumpet Performance (Sat, Feb 27)

Trumpeter Mark Bacon and pianist Barbara Flocco perform a repertoire of various compositions including:
Alexander Arutunian (Trumpet Concerto); Anton Rubinstein (Melodie); Alexander Scriabin (Prelude No. 22, Waltz for Piano and Trumpet); Georges Enesco: Legend; Serge Rachmaninoff: Vocalise for Trumpet and Piano; Alexander Goedicke: Concert Etude and more.
Mark Bacon joined the Cape Ann Symphony as principal trumpet in 2000. His chamber collaborations include Boston Brass, Bala Brass, and the BBQ Brass Quintet. As a soloist, Mark has appeared with the Cape Ann Symphony, The University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Saint Anthony’s Shrine in Boston, and the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Providence. Mark is a graduate of Walnut Hill School, and an alumnus of The Tanglewood Institute and Phillips Academy in Andover.
Barbara Flocco is Music Director at Bedford Presbyterian Church in New Hampshire. She has performed in Carnegie Hall and creates beautiful music at churches throughout New England as a pianist, organist, choir director, vocal coach, arranger, composer, and hand bell director. Her performances can be sampled live or on CD and include: “The Bright Seraphim Ceremonial Music of Splendor” and “The Trumpet Shall Sound”
