I need the dirt on dirt

I’m thinking about getting a bunch of dirt to level off part of my yard; let’s say four or five cubic yards. What exactly do I need to order if I want to shovel it into a pile and put grass seed on top? Loam, dirt, fill, topsoil, a combination of those, or something else entirely? How much would something like this cost, roughly? Anyone have a local Dirt Guy who’s done well by you in the past?
