by Real Worcester - June 20, 2010 1:40am

WPI: George C. Gordon Library, Gladwin Gallery, Ground Floor, 100 Institute Road, Worcester, MA

Worcester’s Woodbury and Company was led by four generations of Worcester Polytechnic Institute-educated men, beginning with John C. Woodbury, Class of 1876. The company specialized in birds-eye view factory drawings and became known in the 20th Century for its fine photogravure letterhead stationery. After the company closed in 2002, the Woodbury family gave the companys archives to WPI and they are now housed in WPIs Archives & Special Collections. The exhibition traces the history of Woodbury and Company and features large original factory drawings, as well as early wood engraving prints, photogravure prints, first day covers, and examples of letterhead stationery throughout most of the 20th Century.
A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. on June 4. Watch short film on history of Woodbury Company: Excerpts from Interview of Kim Woodbury
